What’s Up?

If you want to guarantee that April showers indeed bring in new customers, please join me for one or both of my classes in Portland or meet with me one-on-one to up your on-line marketing game. If you’re wanting to know if your current efforts are on target – please send me your most recent newsletter, or point me to something you’d like me to take a look at. I’d be glad to share my honest feedback with you. The email marketing and social media worlds are changing so rapidly, it’s hard to keep up – and, that’s what I’m here for!

One point I really want to highlight is that everyone should be using a mobile-friendly template for their email marketing. If you are not sure if yours is mobile-friendly, please, let’s talk. 65% of people are checking email on their phones and if your newsletter is not mobile-friendly, you can guess what your customers are doing with your emails.
Here are some articles I’ve found useful, and at the bottom are more details about my upcoming free Portland-area classes!

Late Summer in The Birthday Garden

Late Summer in The Birthday Garden

Hi there,

Well, it’s been a fine Summer, hasn’t it?  I’ve been doing some research these past couple months and have come up with a few things I think you may find useful.

First, friends lists on Facebook. Sounds simple enough, but the more I talk with people, the more I’m hearing a consistent frustration in FB usage. This short video describes why I think it’s useful to make lists of friends – and how to set one (or more) up.

http://screencast.com/t/H36r7Wh79

I’ve begun working closely with two clients –

Robin Denburg, Realty Robin – https://www.facebook.com/RealtyRobinPortland

And Jane’s Healthy Kitchen: https://www.facebook.com/JanesHealthyKitchen

If real estate (buying or selling a home in Portland) or eating healthier interest you, please do check out Jane and Robin’s pages, like them and say hello.  Robin’s one of the nicest people involved in real estate I’ve ever met and Jane’s cookbook (due out in November) is sure to be a winner.

Second, Jane and Robin have hired me to “do” their social networking for a month.  We’re trying this out – interestingly, they both picked the same month – so, I’m learning a lot about supporting businesses closely in the social media/website/email marketing space right now.

If such an arrangement sounds interesting to you, let’s talk. I think it’s a valuable way to go – especially to jump start your marketing efforts if you’re just getting started, but also for those who’ve been at it for a while.  I have been focusing my efforts in this area closely for years now and I understand a lot about how to make best use of these tools.

I also continue to work with some clients on a one-on-one hourly basis – and that’s proving useful, as well.

In October I’ll begin offering my group classes ($30/2-hours) and I’ll let you know when the next classes are when I schedule them.

I continue to pepper my fan page: http://facebook.com/albertideation with useful tools that I find along the way – if you haven’t visited for a while, a quick scroll down the page will give you some ideas you may not have thought of.  Also, I have also been using my newsletter and website as ways to provide this information to the world.

I hope you’re having a great end of Summer and look forward to supporting you in the coming months and years.

With Gratitude,

Albert Kaufman

Here is information I sent to my clients recently about Facebook changes.

——

Hello,

There are about to be some big changes to Fan Pages/Business Pages (same thing) on Facebook. If you haven’t already noticed, fan pages are being switched (like personal pages) to Timeline. Here is a little video about the change.

Also, there are a few articles floating around that go into deeper detail about what these changes mean for you and your business.

Here are some examples of how one might design a decent Fan Page given the new Timeline platform.
